Has your internet speeds been slow? It's not just you!

You may have noticed a slowdown when trying to stream your Netflix shows or when downloading files from the internet. No, your internet provider did not reduce your bandwidth. The problem may not even be with your connection.

The BBC has reported that the source of this slowdown is a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) on the domain servers operated by Spamhaus. It’s CEO, Steve Linford, claims that their servers have been under attack for over a week with upwards of 300 GB/s. Though Spamhaus has remained operational, the DDoS Attacks have caused global internet traffic slow down.

Pandora to limit mobile listening to just 40 hours a month

You may start noticing your free pandora music listening time may be getting cut short. The company has announced that it is killing its unlimited free listening plan and will now restrict free users to only 40 hours a month.

With the ever increasing threat of the government or hackers spying on us or trying to steal data, we are always looking for ways to make our systems & Communications more secure. For our cell phones, there is an app for that. According to Slate, the firm Silent Circle has released a smartphone app that encrypts data. As Ryan Gallagher for Slate puts it, “that means photographs, videos, spreadsheets, you name it—sent scrambled from one person to another in a matter of seconds.”
